Terms & Conditions

We are an old fashioned company and believe in trust between ourselves and our customers. We trust you to disclose all necessary information at the time of booking and we ask you to trust us to look after your dog or cat as if they were our own. Having 30 years of experience behind us and our family home being located on the premises ensures that this is the case. In the unlikely event that there is a problem we have tried to cover each possible one in the terms and conditions below, however as you can understand, not every eventuality can be thought of.

Bookings and Cancellations
Email or online bookings must be confirmed before your dates are secured. Cancellations must be made as soon as you are aware of the need to cancel. A deposit may be taken at the time of booking, deposits are non-refundable if the booking is cancelled. The deposit may be transferable to your next booking, however this is only at our discretion.

Payment
Fees are fully inclusive and are payable per night which begins at noon and ends at noon the following day. During busy holiday periods there is a 2 night minimum charge. We accept cash for the full amount of the booking to be paid upon arrival. We can also accept a direct bank transfer, this will need to have reached our account before the first date of boarding.

Microchips
It is now a legal requirement for all dogs to be microchipped. A microchip certificate must be provided upon arrival and a copy will be taken.

Vaccinations
A vaccination certificate must be produced upon arrival and a copy will be taken. The certificate must show the following;

Dogs – Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis (Canine adenovirus), Leptospirosis (L.canicola and L.icterohaemorrhagiae) and Canine Parvovirus and other relevant diseases. We do not require the kennel cough vaccination and will not accept any dog that has been given the ‘drops down the nose’ vaccine less than one month prior to boarding.

Cats – Infectious Feline Enteritis (Feline Parvovirus), Feline Panleukopenia, Feline Respiratory Viruses and other relevant diseases.

The primary course of vaccinations are required to have been given 2 weeks prior to the first date of boarding or in accordance to manufactures instructions. We also accept titre testing. A certificate must be produced on arrival and a copy will be taken.

If your dog/cat needs to be treated for parasites we will do this using a Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) authorised product that is licenced for use in the UK.

Nursing and Veterinary
We can administer medications or treatments prescribed by your vet for pre-existing conditions. We are happy to carry out homeopathic or herbal treatments however if they are extremely excessive these will incur a cost. We reserve the right to consult a vet if we believe an animal requires it. You are liable for the cost of all veterinary treatment and associated charges unless we recover the costs from our insurance policy.

Insurance
Our insurance policy covers your animal for 72 hours after collection. You are liable for the cost of all veterinary treatment and associated charges unless we recover the costs from our insurance policy. Our Insurance does not cover pre-existing medical conditions, veterinary call out charges or costs that we incur in taking your animal to the vet.

Food
We will feed your dog a suitable food of our choice unless you bring your own food. If your pet has special requirements when it comes to food please ensure that we are fully informed so that should we need to change their food we can do so in the best interest of your pet.

Miscellaneous
Each dog will be provided with a separate kennel except for dogs from the same household. Should a problem arise we will separate dogs from the same household. The signing of these terms and conditions is deemed as written consent for this to happen.

Each cat will be provided with a separate cattery except for cats from the same household. Should a problem arise we will separate cats from the same household. The signing of these terms and conditions is deemed as written consent for this to happen.

Please ensure that your dog is on a lead or your cat is in a box before it comes out of the car

We can provide items such as toys and bedding however we encourage owners to bring their own as this has the animals familiar smell. We are not liable for the loss or damage of such items brought in by the owner.

We try to record as much information as possible about your dog/cats stay with us. Please inform us at the time of booking if you have any special requirements regarding the records that we keep.

Abandonment
If the dog or cat is not collected within 7 days of estimated departure date and no contact has been made to arrange further actions then ownership will revert to us and they may be taken to a suitable agency for re-homing.

Data Protection Policy
We only collect and retain information about you in order to provide you with the services for which you engage us. If you give us information about a third party (e.g. a friend or neighbour) it is your responsibility to ensure their consent. By signing these terms and conditions you agree for us to use your information for in-house marketing purposes. You can opt-out at any time and we will not share any of your information with other companies. Occasionally we might take a photograph of a dog/cat to use on our website or social media without identifying them. If you do not want this for your dogs/cats then please inform us in writing. We are subject to regulatory requirements to retain your data for specified minimum periods e.g. Council License and HMRC. You have the right to request deletion of your personal data. We will comply with the request subject to the restrictions of our regulatory obligations.

Disclaimer
We hold a full Boarding Kennels and Cattery licence and are inspected twice yearly. There are strict conditions regarding the physical building, the disinfection of areas, food and water supplies and vaccinations which we must abide by. We ask for your co-operation to help us ensure these standards are maintained. We reserve the right to refuse entry to any animal if vaccinations are not complete, correct or up to date. We will also refuse entry to any animal that shows signs of illness or mistreatment or is considered to be too old of fragile for boarding. It is your responsibility to disclose the correct information regarding your animals health, welfare and nutrition requirements and inform us of any changes to these. It is also your responsibility to inform us of any changes to your contact details or changes to the veterinary surgery that you use and also to give us any extra information that we may need to know.

Every effort is made to ensure your Dogs and Cats remain happy and healthy, however ultimately they are boarded with us entirely at the owners risk.

These terms and conditions must be signed before boarding commences.
